Alexander Brothers Face Possible Life Sentences in Federal Sex-Trafficking Case

NEW YORK — October 25, 2026

Three brothers who once occupied prominent positions in the luxury real estate and social scenes of New York and Miami are preparing to face sentencing in a federal sex-trafficking case that could result in life imprisonment.

Tal, Alon and Oren Alexander were convicted by a Manhattan federal jury in March 2026 of sex trafficking, conspiracy to commit sex trafficking and other related offenses. Their sentencing is scheduled for Tuesday, October 27, before US District Judge Valerie Caproni.

Federal prosecutors are seeking life sentences, arguing that the brothers engaged in a prolonged pattern of sexual abuse involving women and girls. Their defense attorneys are asking the judge to impose 15-year prison terms and maintain that the brothers intend to challenge their convictions on appeal.

What prosecutors presented at trial

During the five-week trial, 11 women testified about sexual assaults involving one or more of the brothers. Prosecutors said the defendants used their wealth, social connections and invitations to parties and luxury trips to attract women before sexually assaulting them.

According to prosecutors, the alleged conduct spanned multiple years and locations, including Manhattan, the Hamptons, Aspen and destinations in the Caribbean. Investigators also examined recordings and other evidence recovered from the brothers’ electronic devices.

Prosecutors said more than 70 women had come forward to investigators with reports of alleged attacks. Not all of those individuals testified at trial, and the convictions relate to the offenses established in court.

Prosecutors seek life imprisonment

In sentencing submissions, prosecutors argued that the seriousness and duration of the offenses warrant the most severe available punishment. They cited allegations involving vulnerable victims, drugging, physical force and repeated sexual abuse.

Several victims are expected to address the court before the judge determines the sentences. Their statements may describe the personal impact of the crimes and the consequences they say they continue to experience.

Defense attorneys request 15-year terms

The brothers’ attorneys have asked the court to impose 15-year prison sentences, arguing that longer terms would be excessive. They have challenged the prosecution’s interpretation of the evidence and the application of federal sex-trafficking law.

The defense has also pointed to the brothers’ family lives and submitted letters from relatives, friends and others in support of more lenient sentences. The brothers have denied the prosecution’s allegations of drugging and rape and plan to pursue legal challenges to the verdicts.

The jury, however, found all three guilty of the charged federal offenses after hearing testimony and reviewing the evidence presented at trial.

What happens next?

The sentencing hearing is scheduled for October 27 in Manhattan federal court. The judge will consider the parties’ arguments, applicable sentencing rules and the evidence before determining the punishment for each defendant.

The brothers also face separate civil lawsuits and pending cases in Florida state court, according to reporting on the case.

The sentencing decision will mark a major stage in a case that has drawn national attention because of the brothers’ former prominence in the luxury property market and the serious allegations brought against them.
