Philadelphia police and the FBI are reviewing more than 1 million images and videos recovered from a home in the city’s Olney neighborhood as investigators examine the disappearances of several women connected to the property. Authorities say the digital evidence includes images of people who appear injured, unconscious or possibly deceased.
The investigation centers on 44-year-old Eugene Horsch, who was arrested in June and remains in federal custody on firearms-related charges. Authorities initially encountered Horsch after a park ranger stopped a vehicle in Philadelphia and found a woman carrying identification belonging to Blair Tonzelli, a woman who had been missing since 2023.
Police have now linked five missing women to the investigation: Gabrielle Amarando, Maribel Fresses, Nicole Fusaro, Blair Tonzelli and Amy McHale. Investigators believe the five may be dead, although no bodies have been recovered. Police say some of the women appear in digital evidence recovered from the home.
Authorities said investigators have identified dozens of people in the recovered material. Police are working to determine the identities and circumstances surrounding those individuals, while continuing to interview people who may have visited or lived at the property.
The search of the property also uncovered chemicals, firearms and other evidence. Investigators have examined a large drum connected to piping and an underground pipe near the house as part of the ongoing investigation. Officials have cautioned that the investigation is still developing and that evidence must be carefully reviewed before conclusions are reached.
The investigation also involves Raymond “R.C.” Horsch, Eugene Horsch’s father, who lived at the property before his death in 2025. Police are examining digital material associated with the home and its former occupants as they work to establish what happened to the missing women.
Philadelphia authorities say the investigation remains active and that reviewing such a large volume of digital evidence will take time. Officials have emphasized that they want investigators to establish the facts carefully as they work to determine the fate of the missing women.
